My Story

Coming from a family of violinists, Jenny Elfving is a versatile musician and multi-genre performer who has played for audiences all across the U.S., Europe and Asia. Trained in the Suzuki Method, Jenny began her violin studies at the age of 3 in Matsumoto, Japan. She continued her education in Denmark and graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music (violin performance) from the  Royal Danish Academy of Music and a Performance Diploma from Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Jenny has attended master classes with famous violinists such as Eszter Haffner, Boris Kushnir, Milan Vitek, Gerhard Schultz, Terje Moe Hansen, Leo Berlin, and Karl-Ove Mannberg among others.

She has received numerous scholarships from Sweden and Denmark to support her musical development and she is an enthusiastic chamber musician and orchestra player. Jenny is the assistant concertmaster in Céline Dion’s Orchestra in Las Vegas, NV since 2011. She plays on Célines latest French CD “Sans Attendre”, and performed live with Ne-Yo and Céline Dion on New Years Eve 2013. Other highlights include performing with Céline Dion at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles in November 2015, and at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas in 2016.

In Denmark she has performed in the music theatre piece Radiumusic in 2014, 2015 and on tour in 2016. She is regularly freelancing in various symphony orchestras in both Denmark and Sweden.

Jenny is also an accomplished salsa dancer. She has studied dance with salsa world champion Liz Lira in Los Angeles, and performed at various salsa festivals in the USA as a part of Liz Lira Dance Company. She is the co-founder of Copenhagen Salsa Academy.
